PV inverter and energy storage provider Sungrow has partnered with ReSolve Global, a solar panel recycling facility in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales (NSW), Australia. Sungrow sponsored a system comprising a 10 kW SH10RS inverter and a 20 kWh SBH battery, allowing the facility to run on its own solar generation.
Keeping end-of-life panels out of landfill
According to Sungrow’s announcement, issued in Tyagarah, NSW, on 3 November 2026, ReSolve Global operates a 2,000-square-metre holding and sorting facility where used panels are collected, recorded, assessed and sorted, keeping them out of landfill. The announcement notes that the NSW Government has opened consultation on Australia’s first mandatory solar panel product stewardship scheme, which aims to ensure end-of-life panels are recovered, reused and recycled.
Surplus generation stored for later use
Sungrow says the system stores surplus solar generation in the battery for later use. The installation powers the facility’s equipment, lighting and administration, reducing grid reliance and operating costs and cutting emissions from the recycling process.
Ben Pietzsch, Director of ReSolve Global, said the goal is to build a transparent and practical system that prioritises reuse wherever appropriate. Richard Chen, C&I Business Development Manager at Sungrow, called the partnership a meaningful step towards a truly circular solar industry. Tamara Smith, Member for Ballina, highlighted the potential of local innovation to create new skills, jobs and circular-economy opportunities in the region.
Continued cooperation
Sungrow said it plans to keep supporting ReSolve Global and to work with the industry on sustainable end-of-life solutions for solar panels.
